Any messenger with a good regional search function?
Hey Everybody!
I just moved to Berlin (and I love the city as you can see in my nickname ) but unfortunately I only know very few people here and didn't make so many friends in uni. I wonder if there is any messenger which has a good local search so I can find people from Berlin interested in making friends too and probably even meet someone in reality... I've tried with the ICQ whitepages but it's a complete mess i think
Jeez, just shows how tech-minded we've become these days. When I was in college in the US (early 80s) making friends wasn't difficult - you meet people in the same class as yourself, and sooner or later conversations begin...but maybe it's because I'm getting nostalgic now.

Sure... It's not like I'm a complete loner
I just enjoy using IM and hope to find people with more similar interests there. I've met one of my now closest real-live first in a chat so you're right - I'm quite tech minded but I managed to transfer a digital friendship into a real live one so why shouldnt that happen again
