Sorry , it's so hard to solve this problem.
If you used ICQ, you can view your friend avator changed while your friend's im in mobile.

There are several mobile phones that will allow you see your friend's status - whether or not he/she is online.

Don't think so
I don't think you can use MSN to talk to someone on Yahoo...yet. I'm sure eventually, you may be able to, but not yet!
