Can any program do this? Push a video feed to a remote computer

Okay, I have a computer at my desk and another computer that my children use in another room. Both computers have built-in webcams. What I want to do is be able to pop-up the webcam feed from my computer onto their computer screen whenever I want, and have them hear and see me. Additionally, I would like to be able to turn on their webcam at any time and view their feed from my computer.

I supposed this would be something similar to a Star Trek / Babylon 5 type set-up where they could get an incoming message from their dad at any time. Or perhaps a boss who is checking on employees at a different branch.

Well, that's the set-up. I know that Live Messenger Plus can enable an auto-accept feature. However, the lag to boot up the camera is unbearable, and it pops-up a chat window whenever I access their webcam, which would be annoying to anyone using that computer. Perhaps there is a program that can work over an IP or LAN connection, to speed up the feed?

I offer my sincerest thanks to everyone who took the time to read this.

I'm not sure this will do what you want but take a look at Tokbox. You'll have to see if there is anything workable in there for what you want to do.

The difference between this and WLM or Y!M is that those are text based messengers that also happen to have video and voice. Tokbox is based around being a video chat solution.

Good luck!
