Gaim ver. 1.50

This i.m. is the best i.m. client I've used so far but I wonder why the extended preferences plugin wasn't included with the latest beta version. I recently installed the latest beta version so I could correspond with MSN Messenger contacts but the latest Gaim beta doesn't allow you to change the conversation font sizes like version 1.50 can. Does anyone have any input about this? Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply. Pidgin 2.1.0 is the newest release of the IM client formerly known as Gaim. Even though this version does not include the Extended Preferences plugin by default you can easily install it yourself. According to SImGuy Extended Preferences isn't in the Official Pidgin release because the developers do not wish to provide technical support.

download the .zip file from the website
follow the directions in the install file -- which are like the ones i provided below

create the folder "plugins" (if it doesn't exist) in %appdata%\.purple
put the .dll file in that folder
restart Pidgin
Tools >> Plugins >> check the box next to Extended Preferences >> configure it to your liking
