Having trouble adding buddies

I tried to add buddies to my Pidgin account. It says that I can't add the buddy. Then it has my friend on there but it says not connected to server. Any help?

Are you sure you are connected to the Network that you are trying to add buddies to? Accounts>> Enable Account>> pick your sn from the list. When prompted enter your password. You will be warned if you input the incorrect password. Once you are connected you should be able to modify your account as much as you please.
