Skype and spyware?

is it true that along with skype, spyware software is installed?
if so is there a way to remove spyware with ad-cleaners?
do you recommend skype?

The company claims that the software has no Spyware or Adware. However a quick review of the installations license agreement brings this to view:
Quote:
quotec) THE SKYPE SOFTWARE IS UTILIZED AND DISTRIBUTED BY THIRD PARTIES WHICH ARE UNRELATED TO SKYPER. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT INSTALLATION OF THE SKYPE SOFTWARE WILL ALLOW THIRD PARTIES WHO ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH SKYPER THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR COMPUTER ("OUTSIDE PARTIES"). YOU AGREE THAT SKYPER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE, CLAIM OR LOSS OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES AS STATED IN PARAGRAPH 9(a) ABOVE, RESULTING FROM ANY ACTIONS OR OMISSIONS OF THE OUTSIDE PARTIES.
This doesn't mean it has any, it just means they aren't in control of whether it does or not. To be absolutely sure, download, update and scan your system with either (or both) AdAware and Spybot. This will ensure you are clean from any adware or spyware.

Deadeye - I have installed, use and love skype. I have run ad-ware, spybot, torjscan, nortons, bla bla bla on my computer on a regular basis, I have found some, but not necessarily from skype. As long as you keep your "wares" running and clean out your computer regularly, there shouldn't be a problem. Also remember to run these "wares" in safe mode BEFORE anything loads into your computer.

I love skype. The program has no lag and can conference up to 4 people in one conversation. Voice quality if fantastic.

i read some reviews about skype and I got worried about it
i've heard very nasty stuff abouyt spyware and the trouble it might cause and people with spyware on their computers seem to be unable to remove it with regular adwares http://download.com.com/3302-2349_4-10280860.html
i have norton antivirus and lavasoft adware installed but i'm a freshman in computers and if something goes wrong i'm finished
also I have to inform the other person I want to talk to, about skype and he/she is also clueless about computers, whats more is that I dont want his/her computer to be infested with spyware and/or other malware and in the reviews I read someone mentions skype as ''an invitation for others to jack up your computer''?
i want to use MSN but with all these problems with the new version and its inability to add audio in a conversation I have to look elsewhere
what would you suggest to a clueless-about-computers over the programm, the precautions I should take and what other alternatives I have to choose from
thanks to all
