Cannot delete MSN contacts on Trillian

I'm trying to delete a portion of contacts on Trillian, but have not found how, so I just simply selected them one by one to delete them. Also, I did this while I was connected, so it should update to the MSN servers. But the next time I startup Trillian, even before I am connected to MSN, all the contacts are back again. They are obviously saved somewhere on my computer. How do I get rid of them permanently?

They're stored in buddies.xml in your trillian\users\<profilename> folder, where <profilename> is probably "default". You might have to delete the buddy from MSN messenger as well as from Trillian's list.

Interestingly your trouble seems to be the wrong way round compared to most users: they tend to see the buddy disappear from trillian when they delete it, but it reappears when they sign back on to MSN. It's possible that your closing trillian simply by letting it quit when windows shuts down: this WON'T save your settings properly, you have to close trillian on its own first.
