Away message font?

ok, so this is one thing that annoys me about trillian thus far. when I set an away message, I have to specify the font face and size each time, otherwise it defaults to 12pt times new roman. I want this to be 10pt verdana, without having to type in the html code to do it each time. i've been through the preferences dialog several times looking for where I would set this, but apparently it either doesnt exist or i'm completely missing it.

someone enlighten me? (side note, i'm using Basic, and I dont plan on paying $25 for the Pro version, so using plugins is out)

what chat are you using? is it aim, icq, yahoo or msn? I did a litle test, changed the preferences to yellow on black comic sans ms 12 then checked all the boxes on the rite. then I went away. now I asked my friend to IM me while I was away then I asked him what color the auto response was. it was black on blu. now its either trillian didnt completely think the away message thing through, but something is not working here. Things could change in newer versions but so far going away has caused problems with trillian... and I saw no away message thing in the preferences either tigerblade. im using trillian basic as well. I tried but failed to help...il keep looking for solutions!!

well its mostly for AIM. I use aim and msn, and yahoo checks my mail (meaning I dont have any yahoo messenger list or anything). whenever I set an away message for aim, without using html code to specify <font face="verdana" size=2>, it comes back to the person who sent me a message as 12 pt times new roman.

where you're talking about, I also have it set to be verdana, 8pt, bold black text, for all mediums, sent with the message. those options are exactly what i see when I send or receive messages, but on AIM the receiver of my away message doesnt see that (unless I use the html like above). I did notice it says "when possible" it'll send that formatting... meaning not always?? I dont know

i guess the trillian people didnt suceed in making a simpler aim, that keeps all of the basic features (the ones used for simple messenging...IM, and away message mainly) so we might see solutions in future versions of trillian, but so far going away has had several problems with trillian. and since everyone likes being away all the time I guess thats a biggy"when possible" would definitely mean...when they can so MAYBE it will work, not 100% of the time until they figure out how to make it work 100% of the time.
