Check your Norton Firewall and make sure that Trillian is allowed to access the internet. There should be some sort of option that lets it act as a server. Perhaps this will fix your problem.

Making Trillian act as a server is only necessary for incoming file transfers. For MSN just make sure you can connect outwards, specifically to port 1863.

try unchecking the box next to "Ignore IE proxy settings for SSL connection". To get to the right tab, go to Connections preferences select Miscellaneous you'll find the box. See if that helps.Good luck!!

then your Norton Internet Security is bolcking the connection from MSN thru Trillian.Do this Close Trillian. Go back in to Program Control (I'm assuming you have Automatic Program Control checked).Click on Program Scan to re-scan your PC. Make sure anything with Trillian or Cerulean is unchecked. You can recheck all other programs. When you hit next you'll get your location preferences for the Trillian program, I check them all, click finish. You should get a pop up when you reload Trillian, select "Always allow connection etc. etc. to this program". This will open all ports necessary and close them when not needed.
