Naming only on switch

I know this is hard to explain, but I want it to only tell me the name (Mine or my chat-partner) when we switch.
Like the iChat idea, where if I say two or more things in a row, it only puts my name the first time, then puts my buddy's alias when they talk after me.

Does that makes sense?
Is that possible at all??

I know what you mean (Google Talk also does this), but I dont know if Trillian is able to work this way. I know for certain it's not built in by default, but I'm not sure if there might possibly be a plugin that might do it. If there *is* a plugin, it would require TrillianPro.

My guess, and only a guess, is that it's probably not possible. Yet.

sorry, I misspoke, I don't think iChat does it, but Yahoo and google both do.
If I get pro is there anything that'll do that? I find it SO much easier to follow when it does that.

If you find one listed here, then yes, if you get pro, that particular plugin will do that.

iChat, MSN, Yahoo (I think), Adium, and Google Talk do this. As far as I know, I don't think there is a plugin for Trillian to do that. I also know Miranda *can* if you really tweak it a bit (I'm not sure how but I've heard it can be done). It doesn't do that by default though. Hopefully they let us do that in Astra, because I really like that feature as well.

that's where you would find one, were one to exist. that's the plugin selection on Trillian's homepage. if someone's made a plugin to do that, it'd be on that site somewhere.
