    Google Talk, the long-awaited instant messenger from the Internet giant is now out! BigBlueBall has all the details:


    I'm impressed with their initial effort, and I think when they add the ability to connect to MSN, AIM, Yahoo, et. al. they claim a major share of the IM market. Google Talk is worth a look.

    Skype Releases IM Development Tools
    In the wake of Google's IM announcement, CNET News.com reports that VoIP giant Skype is now letting Web sites and others Internet applications tap into the untold millions of people using Luxemburg-based company's instant-message feature.

    The company on Wednesday unleashed its SkypeWeb and SkypeNet developer tools. By doing so, Skype says it's opening up its platform to people who wants to integrate Skype Instant Messaging--a lesser-known feature of Skype--into their applications.
