April Foolery around the web
Happy April Fool's Day!
I've run across a few examples of April Foolery on the web, and thought I'd share. First off, the good folks at Google Mobile have introduced Google Brain Search. It modifies the built-in ability of your cell phone to pick up radio waves, only with this, it can pick up brain waves. Never wonder "where did I leave my car keys?" again! Not to be outdone, the Gmail team has created Gmail Custom Time, allowing you to "post-date" emails as far back as 2004 (and never miss another deadline). On the IM front, Microsoft Research introduces Automatic Mood Detection in Windows Live Messenger. It's currently still in Alpha testing, but will monitor your real-time physiological state and translate that into a mood (happy, sad, anxious, etc.) so you'll never have to manually enter another emoticon again! Find a funny April Fool's prank? Share it! |

I thought Gmail Autopilot was pretty funny. Google really loves April Fool's Day!

And then there was the video demo of the forthcoming video/audio support in Pidgin.

This was a good one: TiVo "announced" DVR-SuperAdvance, letting you record entire shows before they've finished being broadcast. Even works for live events. Could help me even the odds in my March Madness picks.
I gotta tell Steve B. about this site!
