Windows Live Messenger 2009 Release Candidate

Windows Live Messenger 2009 Release Candidate (14.0.8050.1202) has been included in the new release of the Windows Live Essentials package.

The update includes a new theme, tray icon and sign in screen as well as nearly 200 bug fixes.

Unfortunately Messenger Plus is not 100% compatible, but some features will still work.

I'll live without Messenger Plus for now, but I need my mess patch!

One thing that I will admit that I miss from either an older version of a final build, or a previous beta, is the status icon showing in the messages in the task bar. They all show a plain gray icon, which is always making me think they are offline. I liked it when it changed upon my contacts' status.
