To put it simple, POP support in Plus! 2.0 stinks.

If you use the POP support in Plus! 2.0 you assign the POP servers and it checks at some particular time as you choose, like every 10 minutes. If you use/check more than 1 POP in Plus! 2.0. Then Plus check all the POP servers at the same time (every 10 minutes) and it don't use any other notification way for POP emails (if there are any unread/undownloaded email), but uses the same notification which Hotmail uses.

And it at random shows the number of new emails for each POP account & Hotmail (because it check all POP account as the same time, and as it uses only one notification for all) without even telling you for which account is that number of unread emails are for, and as it uses the same notification that is for Hotmail, even if you don't have any unread emails in hotmail, Plus! 2.0 still shows that there are (and those unread emails are for POP accounts) and if you check it it takes you to Hotmail Inbox. It causes much confusion

POP feature in Plus! 2.0 is un-supported support.

Is it possible to put a password to protect the chat logs folder?

I agree with urxlnc. The MP2's POP support seems like a good idea, but poorly implemented. Maybe they should take some cues from how Trillian Pro's POP3 plug-in works.

I don't use a Hotmail or MSN account for my .NET passport, so MSN Messenger has never checked my mail before. But even after configuring several POP accounts with MP2, it's still not checking any of my mail acccounts.

Well Unfortunately, "No" but what you can do is ZIP the previous log archives, the current log files will be automatically generated even if you delete the earlier ones, until you check off "Log this Chat" in your Plus menu, in the Converstation window.

This is what I was talking about, a mini database would be more helpful, Patchou should look out for this in next versions,

1. Encrypt the chat logs and give them new extensions.
2. Supply a Viewer, that could also be secure and could show the encrypted chat logs in Rich-text (using emoticons)

I think this is not really a tough job. I would be happy to supply the prototype.

Ive just read that a email virus is going around to people explaining that now that you have downloaded 2.0 and because it was over a certin size (what ever it is) there is a file that you still need or something. And in the attachment there is a virus. Delete it if you recieve it.

It was posted on www.mess.be

Please mind that the latest Plus! is v2.00 (as if you didn't know by now) *AND* it's over one megabyte in size, so a tiny attachment of 40kb with an extension like .scr is certainly not it. It's safer to download it from the mirrors presented below, but remember to ALWAYS SCAN DOWNLOADED FILES for viruses! [Reported by: DrEaMiNgWeB] [Messed by dwergs]

As for the chat logs, I don't really care about password protection. There's a fine line between a useful tool and a bloated, oversized resource-hog. Right now MP2 falls into the "useful tool" category; let's not push it into the bloatware side.

Jeff, I don't think Encryping and Viewer would make Plus! 2.0 a bloat, I belive a small module for Encryption and De-Encryption would make it all up, The Messengers own DLL's would be helpful for making a viewer.

No matter in business or personal, security comes first, and Encryption would also help safe messenging over MSN. I would be looking forward for this in Plus! 3.0

Fair enough. I just don't want to through everything-but-the-kitchen-sink into MP2. Refine the few things that it does well, and leave it at that.

Faizan - you can try what I do. Find the folder that contains all your logs n' change it into a hidden folder. Simple as that. Make sure your system is configured to hide all hidden folders. Now your folders are hidden to any other users on your computer yet still accessible by you.
