Opening a new MSN chat window also opens up webmail page in browser!

I have no idea what is causing this, but whenever I open a new chat window in MSN to talk to someone, it also opens my browser and brings me to the 'send email' page where I can send that person an email...

I'm using MSN Messenger 6.2.0205

with Messenger Plus! 3.25.106

and MessengerDiscovery 2.6.3 (2634)

Hi verTigoelecTric ,

I think the best thing to start with is removing Messenger Plus! and MessengerDiscovery. This way we won't waste time searching in MSN Messenger itself or somewhere else on your computer when it happens to be caused by one of those plugins.

Greetings,

Sjoerd

Greetings,

Sjoerd

I first uninstalled Messenger Discovery, and that didn't help. I then uninstalled Plus!, that didn't help. Now i'm uninstalling MSN 6.2 to see if a reinstall will fix the problem.

In normal conditions, when you doubleclick on a contact that is offline it will open hotmail and let's you send an e-mail. It looks like the same happens with you now but then with contacts that are online.
I don't know what the cause for this is and have never seen it before.

Let's hope a reinstall does the job for you

If not it might be a connection problem somehow. Try turning off your firewall if you have one and see if it fixes it. Also try to sign-in with a different .net passport and see if the same thing happens.

didn't help... and i've also noticed that now suddenly i'm getting a lot of random browser popups and other annoyances. i installed Adaware and it found a lot of adware/spyware. I am so careful with what goes into this machine. I did not have any problems until I upgraded Messenger Discovery to the latest version.
