Messenger Plus! 3.50 RELEASED

For those of you out there who use MSN Messenger... I have discovered a great Add-on for your convenience

Messenger Plus!

for those of you who don't plan on reading this whole story... download it and try it out for a bit... BUT, when you're installing, there's a thing that looks like a license agreement, MAKE SURE you select Yes or No depending on whether you want to support Messenger Plus! by installing INSTALLING a SPONSOR PROGRAM... otherwise, things may be installed onto your computer that are more than you bargained for. It's not difficult to notice... just when a box comes up asking you if you do or do not agree, tell 'em What YOU Want!

On with the Good Part now

What can I do with Messenger Plus! ?
This is hard to answer because you can do a lot of things with this add-on. Here is a list of some of the main features

Send Custom Emotion Sounds To Your Contacts!
The Custom Emotion Sound feature brings sound integration in MSN Messenger to the next level by allowing users to send their own sounds to any of their contacts during a conversation. Sounds are played instantly on both ends and are transferred automatically and transparently when needed. New emotion sounds can be created quickly from existing sound files (such as MP3s) and can be recorded live from a microphone or any other audio source. If sound authoring is not your thing, thousands of sounds can also be imported directly from the public database and many web sites offer themed Sound Packs for download.
Various Messenger Tweaks
With Plus!, you can rename your contacts to tidy your contact list, see statistics about your buddies in order to clean up your contact list, make your windows semi transparent, automatically accept file transfers, filter words from the messages you send or receive, and much more!
Enhance your messaging experience!
You can have your own personalized messages to send to your contacts when they contact you while you're idle or away! Messenger Plus! also offers 50 slots for instant Quick Texts, customizable automatic messages that you can send with a simple shortcut or typed command, quick icon panels to make it easier to insert your emoticons without having to remember their codes, a Text Recall feature to resend recent messages, the ability to search inside your conversations and a Quote Sender.
Advanced Logging
Before MSN Messenger even showed a sign of logging, Messenger Plus! already offered it. Plus!'s logging is much different than MSN Messenger's logging, with archiving, encryption with passwords, and let's not forget the fact that you can log every event!
Other Messaging Features
Messenger Plus! gives you the possibility to choose any color you want for front and background, and add formatting, such as bold, italic, underlined and stoke-out. It also lets you control almost every aspect of Messenger via text shortcuts called commands, much like the ones in IRC chat.
Enhanced Notifications
If you don't use Hotmail, you can choose to be notified whenever a new e-mail arrives in your POP3 mail account (up to five can be configured!). Additionally, you can receive toast-style notifications for any contact event, like when contacts their nick or go offline.
Security & Privacy Control
Messenger Plus! offers a Boss Protection feature that hides Messenger and your conversations with a shortcut, even notifying who you were talking with about the situation. It also allows you to lock your Messenger with a password when you leave the computer and, for permanent privacy, it can encrypt all your logs so that only you can read your previous chats.
Plus...
Fully multilingual
Messenger Plus! is completely translated into more than 25 different languages, all included in the default setup package.
A beautiful, simple and user-friendly interface
Despite its hundreds of features, Plus! keeps everything organized in a single preferences dialog, completely redesigned in Plus! 3 to simplify the user experience and be more pleasant to use. However, Messenger Plus! also lets you access many features via commands sent in conversation windows, global shortcuts and context menus.
Plug-ins Architecture
Just in case you find Plus' features not enough, you can also download plug-ins to add new capabilities. Visit the plugins section to know more and get them!
And, last but not least, FREE!
Messenger Plus! is a freeware. You are even encouraged to send it to your friends! Of course, it does not contain any type of spyware or trojan. The optional sponsor program can be installed during the setup, risk free! For those who want to support the development but prefer not to install the sponsor program, you are encouraged to visit the online Messenger Plus! store, or give the developer a minute of your time by sending a postcard.

atownjoe, thank you for the excellent review. It is much appreciated.

But, please note that I have removed your referral link in your post as it violates Patchou's instructions. Please be warned that you may be reported for this.

Just be sure not to spam other people with your referrer link or you will be disqualified from the contest without warning."

Thanks for trying though

Did I miss seeing the option or did they remove the ability to remove the ad at the bottom of MSN Messenger?

Yes I believe Patchou did, I vaguely remember reading it somewhere.

They removed it, I had a look at the Messenger Plus forums, Patchou says:

"I felt this option had not its place anymore with the new Messenger version as Microsoft obviously intends to generate some money with their software now."
