Net Messenger logs on automatically

Every time I log on my computer, my MSN 7.0 lstarts to log on automatically, as I've told it to do, but then suddenly stops. Then I have to right click it, press the "log on as [my e-mail address]" and a pop up comes up with "You have been logged of MSN Net Messenger because you logged on somewhere else" or something like that. How do I stop this Net Messenger thing from logging on automatically?

Welcome to BigBlueBall.

Tools > Options > General tab

Uncheck the "Allow automatic sign in when connected to Internet" checkbox.

Thanks, but... That only prevents MSN 7.0 to log on automatically. Net Messenger still logs on.

And by the way: No MSN Net Messenger-window comes up. Only the conversation windows if someone talks to me.

NET Messenger? What's that? Do you mean Windows Messenger?

Indeed it's Windows Messenger. Visit your control panel, user accounts (choose the user you are currently on) than manage my network passwords (top left). Choose the "Passport.Net\*" and remove it. This should stop you from auto sign in on any Messenger client from Microsoft.
