IM Names - How Do I Uninstall?

My son has IM Names on his MSN Messenger and wants to be rid of it. I tried to uninstall using the Add/Remove tool in the control panel, it is no longer on the list, but it still evident on MSN Messenger.

He is now extremely annoyed and I am worried about the security of his computer.

Can someone please give me instructions for ousting it totally???

Marilyn

it's this rubbish prog that allows you to tweak features within messenger...from what I can understand, it's my son that uses it. Everytime you type and send a message on messenger it advertises its website under your signiture...which is really annoying and ugly. When you uninstall it it doesnt stop working. And within program files it will not allow you to delete it. I also suspect it is spyware or something similar.

You got my hopes up thinking someone had given me the answer of how to get rid of it. I recommend you do not install IM Names yourself

Have you tried running a spyware detector on your computer?

Ugh, I have this too. I'd be interested on finding out if anyone has a way to get rid of it, as I have no clue. My sister downloaded it and now I can't get it off of my comp!

That website didn't really help me. The IM-names program won't let me do anything to it!

If your Antipyware did not work.Simply to a search of you computer of all files and folders called IM-svr. It will come up with two results, delete both and your problems should be over!!!

to do the search....

1.Click Start > Find > Files or Folders.
2.In the All or part of the file name field, type the name of the file you want to search for.
3.In the Look in field, select the drive you want to search.
4.Click Search. If the file is found, it appears in the Search Results pane along with its location.

Good luck!!!

From what this page says (http://stiggy.be/msn/index.php/IM-Names%28Malware%29),
all you have to do is uninstall it via the Add/Remove Programs in your control panel.

The road to success is always under construction.
