Open your registry editor (Start > Run > regedit.exe) and navigate to:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsLive\Communications Client

Once there, you must remove the following subkeys:
    Policies

Hey I'm still unable to get the "ACCEPT" button, it just shows this picture I've already done the steps in this thread and still nothing. Dunno what else to do.

Also everytime I check back in the registry, the SHARED folder keeps coming back and I keep deleting it from the WindowsLive/Communications folder. Or is it supposed to do that?

I don't know if my issues qualify under this one but the thing is when someone adds me I don't get no pop up anymore to notify me. When I add them myself they go on my list but always show as the full email and when I try and talk to them it keeps saying they're not in my contact list *shrug*

I've tried doing the "click here to add them to contact list" thing but it makes no difference.

I've now done both things mentioned in post #1 & #2 in this thread and now I can't sign in to WLM. It's just been trying (without error msg's) for the past 30 mins.

    Help please?!

Try this, it might solve the problem of signing in:

    Try the following:

    1. Click on Start and Run and type in REGEDIT and hit Enter

    2. In the registry editor, click on “HKEY_CURRENT_USER”, followed by “Software”, followed by “Microsoft”, followed by “MSNMessenger”, and followed by “Policies”.

    3. Delete the “Policies” folder.

    4. Restart your machine.

    5. Sign into Messenger again.
