Lexoyla:
Hi, and welcome to the BBB forums. Some questions that I have to ask you:
Try using Web Messenger and see whether you can chat. I also think there might be a problem with your Messenger Plus! Live program. If you've installed it correctly, the Plus! menu should always be visible in the WLM toolbar. |

hi, thank you very much for the welcome and the reply..
this problem came as soon as i upgrated my 7.5 to the 8.1 two or three days ago.I had the plus for the 7.5 and it was working fine before the upgrate. Now i downloaded the plus for this version and i have to do so every time i restart. The biggest problem is 8.1 itself, that it doesnt allow me to have conversations. I was so upset with this that i downloaded a new program in my pc for protection,to see if it would change anything. Now I have Windows Live One Care until the 90 days are up. I checked for the firewall and messenger is under my allow list. I tried deleting messenger and redownloading it a couple of times, I tried to find and download 7.5 again but i ended up with 8.1 again, I tried the plus so many times, and i cant think of something else i did right now..keep in mind im no comptuter jenius, so thats about as much as i could do on my own and im sorry if i have not answered your questions corectly. Thank you once again |

Hi i'm new to the forum but i found this on the internet, however i did all these things (mentioned above) and it still doesn't want to sign me in. It just says "signing in..." all the time and the two people are turning all the time. I asked a friend of mine if it looks as if i'm signed in and he said yes. So the problem is that it doesn't want to show me that i'm signed it and it doesn't allow for other contacts to start a conversation with me. One last thing the folders that you mentioned above, i didn't have them and spybot didn't report any threats or anything similar .... although when i installed AVG it found some virus and as far as i remember it indicated a path that was where msn was installed but i'm not certain cause i deleted it from the virus vault, so i pretty much destoyed any chance of finding info about the virus and what it meant. pls help, if you can and thank you in advance |

There have been some WLM glitches reported at the moment. If you've just had this problem, sign in with Web Messenger first.

Hello and welcome to BBB! Can you answer a couple quick questions for me? If you just leave the little guys spinning....do they ever stop and do you get an error code? If so, what it is (and I'd need the whole thing please.) If you don't get an error code, can you tell me if you are using a router?
There are two things that pop to mind. The first is that knowing you've had some kind of virus or malware on your machine makes it highly suspect that it's not completely cleared off. The second would be a router issue which is easily tested if you are indeed using one. If it turns out to be virus/malware related, I'm happy to work through all the steps to make your machine squeaky clean, but it will require a bit of patience to get it done as there are quite a few steps to it. Can you also please tell me also what operating system you use (XP or Vista), what version of WLM you have, and did you make any system changes right before this happened (installing new software, upgrading, etc.) that you can think of. -Doris- Microsoft MVP 2009 - Windows Live Messenger |
