Download a free 30-day trial copy of Sophos AntiVirus here. Important: before you run Sophos, uninstall your present antivirus program from your computer first. Then run Sophos and make sure you install the latest antivirus updates from them. Do a complete scan of your system, preferably scanning all files and directories.

My younger sister ended up accepting this worm on my computer too as it said that her friend wanted to share pictures from her Facebook or MySpace. Creeps!

Anyway, I can't seem to find the noted items either. Irritating worm!

Graham, I received an offer purportedly sent by you to view some pics. I didn't accept the request and after a few minutes this message appeared in my WLM chat window: "OMG just accept please its only some pics!!" This is one smart worm.

I would never accept a ZIP file through msn ever.
Nor would I accept any file from someone I am unsure about.
These worms have been going around for ages, people should be aware of them by now.

The problem is that sometimes the file appears to come from a friend or friends. I've had that happening to me both on WLM and email. So the best advice is don't open any files that appear suspicious...let's be careful out there.

Hi,
I also got the virus from an IM from a friend and stupidly opened it.
It started sending it to all my online contacts which is when i realised it was a virus.
I restored my system and now it has stopped sending it to my contacts.
Does this mean the virus is gone?

Probably. But to be on the safe side you should download Sophos antivirus (see post #2) and scan your computer thoroughly. Keep in mind that you'd have to uninstall your pre-existing antivirus first before installing Sophos.
