MSN offline messages showing up on Yahoo email

Can anyone tell me why my Windows Live Messenger off line messages show up at my Yahoo email? I check my Yahoo email every am and if there is any offline messages from my Windows messenger a tab shows telling me I have offline messages, and I read them there. I don't have Yahoo messenger and the address my contacts have is my hotmail account so why does this happen? It's rather annoying, because if I don't check my Yahoo mail then I wouldn't know I had any offline messages. How can I change this...emails to Yahoo resulted in no reply....not surprised.

I've heard of a similar problem before, where offlines went to Hotmail - but I'm not sure that was ever resolved. I'm grasping at straws and I'm not sure of why I think there could be any connection - but do you have WLM set up for mobile messages?

This doesn't happen to anyone else I know. Yahoo actually replied and asked me to send them a screen shot of my email when it happens, but wouldn't you think if that is a Yahoo option and they have a tab for it, they would know immediately what I am talking about?

With Yahoo and WLM interoperability it's hard to say what they are looking for. Perhaps it's something they have heard of but can't reproduce and your screen shot can assist them.

I've only seen the similar problem one time, and I don't believe we were able to determine the cause. Offlines should not go to email. I'm not sure it's a Yahoo problem but if they are willing to look into it for you then that is likely your best option.

Good luck and please let us know what they find out, or don't.

Finally heard from Yahoo...this was their reply
"The Yahoo! Mail messenger program is designed only to work with Yahoo!
Messenger, not Windows Live. Is it possible that you have any forwarding
enabled on your Windows Live messenger account?"
What the heck? It's a tab on their email!! I sent them a screen shot and they still don't know what I am talking about.....crazy.
If I sign in at Windows Live Messenger my offline messages pop up but if I go check my email at Yahoo, they show up there...and Yahoo can't tell me why?

UPDATE:
My final response from Yahoo:
"Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Mail.

Unfortunately this is out of our scope of support. Please contact
Windows Live for further help."
So obviously they have no idea why this is happening and decided to pass it off to Windows Live.
