Having Trouble Blocking

Recently I've blocked a couple of people, but when we're in big multi user conversations, they're not blocked.

Normally, I'd be cool with that but I was on another computer, with I assume the same version of WLM, (I have BETA on this computer), and they ARE blocked for big conversations.

Basically, what I want to know is if there is a version of WLM that does that, or if there's somethign in the settings, or anything that can help me block people entirely.

Hello and welcome to BBB! I've not used the Beta version, but I'm guessing the other computer might have had a third party application which may have blocked the contacts.

Are you trying to block them from multi-user, or do you want them in multi-user? I wasn't clear on that from your post.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm trying to block them in multi-user, and I'd have no idea if there was something else blocking them on the other computer. I just downloaded the latest version of MSN on it, and they were blocked in multi-user conversations, as well as everything else.

OK - after testing this out (since I don't use multi-person text very often) I have the answer of how it should be working.

You have a contact blocked, when you go into a multi-person chat, you will have an information note at the top of the chat area the person is not blocked for this conversation. That is sort of true but a little misleading.

You will not see anything that person types, BUT they will see anything you type unless you are also blocked on their contact list. This is true using the most current stable release 8.5. I can't say how it would behave wtih the beta version or older versions.
