Hello and welcome to BBB! I can certainly understand how frustrating this must be at work every time you sign in. Before we try making any changes, or trying different fixes, I need to ask a couple of questions.

1. Are you on XP or Vista?
2. When you sign in at home, does all appear correctly and/or do you experience any problems with the same account that gives you trouble at work?

I'll be glad to try and help you out, but I'm trying to figure out if there is any possibility it is a WLM server error or not before we do anything with your computer.

I'm sorry to say I do think the problem is something with your computer at work. If it works fine at home, then it pretty much eliminates a WLM server problem. Since your contacts are stored on the WLM servers, we can look at totally uninstalling whatever your current version of WLM is, and then reinstalling fresh.

I'd suggest downloading RevoUninstaller so we can do a pretty thorough removal. You will use this to uninstall instead of going through add/remove programs. Once you start RevoUninstaller, it will populate a screen with all your programs. Choose your WLM and click uninstall. It will ask for what level you want to look for with regard to files that may be left over. Choose #4. Then go ahead with the uninstall. Revo will first scan for all the files/folders/entries it can find for WLM. The next step is using the built in un-installer to remove it. Afterwards, Revo looks to see if there are any remaining files and folders on your machine. If so you will be given the lists of what remains. Choose Select All and Delete for any files it finds.

After you have finished with RevoUninstaller, please visit the WLM official download site and download the set up program. I'd recommend NOT getting the beta version just yet - I'd rather get you working on the latest stable build before even thinking about moving to the beta.

Please go ahead and see if you can install and connect normally. If you get any errors please make a note of exactly what they say so we can try to troubleshoot it.

Hopefully, a good totally clean install will take care of the problem. You will lose any custom emoticons and display pictures saved on your machine, so please know that up front. Your contact display pictures will rebuild themselves with some time.

Let me know if you have any questions. If this doesn't fix it we'll keep at it but I'm fairly hopeful this will take care of it.
