No, I didn't have any add-ons or anything of that sort.
I have attached a prntscrn image of what it looks like from my friends computer. Under my name, it says, "has new interests - (64 days ago)." It previous had my location, instead of 'has new interests.' |

I'm afraid I've not seen that before. What version of WLM did you have that actually had this in it? It looks almost like it's taking information from the What's New feed (since it references a number of days ago) but location isn't one of those options.

I had the same version that I have now.. found here:
Messenger - Windows Live It stopped responding yesterday, so I uninstalled it, then re-installed it. It was working at first, but today I signed out and signed in a few moments later, and it had stopped using that feed. I honestly don't understand why it stopped working suddenly. My 'Whats New' feed is working perfectly, though. It only shows the location for the first few minutes after you start talking to a contact. |

I have no idea how you've been able to see that information. It's not part of the standard build of WLM.
Unless there is something integrating with it - like a third party app/hack, or possibly something like Office Communicator (which we've seen put odd boxes and icons where they don't belong) then I have no idea. It is definitely not a standard feature so if you are seeing it at all then take it for what it's worth. -Doris- Microsoft MVP 2009 - Windows Live Messenger |
