I regret to inform that none of the links helped my situation. I've tried everything on that list. I've updated WLM, IE, Got Service pack 2. Nothing's worked. I've deleted all temporary internet files and everything like that.
I have used another computer to sign in to my WLM, and everything works. All the people who have added me popped up and i could accept their invites. All deleted people stayed deleted. So It's definitely something to do with my computer. I'm running 32 bit vista on a Dell Studio 1535. not sure if that makes a difference but it's information. |

Glad to hear you found a solution. Thanks for taking time to post it. It really does help others when they have the same problem.
When you uninstall a program using the built in uninstaller or Add/Remove programs, there are generally registry entries, files and folders left over on your machine that are not removed. This is typical of most programs. Very few do a "thorough" job of self-removal. Thus, if you reinstall WLM, the existing registry entries (which may have become corrupted) may still be there, and can cause a fresh install to work improperly. For anyone who is not familiar with registry editing, I'd suggest uninstalling WLM using RevoUninstaller on Level 4 removal. This will remove WLM and look for leftover files, folders and registry entries, giving you the chance to easily delete them. You would then need to reinstall WLM. While this may not get 100% of all entries, it is a less intrusive means of removing registry entries if you are not sure of what needs to go or stay. (This is a great program and I actually use it for all my uninstalls.) Editing the registry directly is not to be taken lightly. You should only do so if you know what you are doing and understand the possible problems from improper editing. If you choose to do so it's always a wise idea to make a backup of the registry first, in the event something goes wrong. Erunt is a simple (and free) solution to achieve this. Best of luck and I hope it keeps working flawlessly for you!! -Doris- Microsoft MVP 2009 - Windows Live Messenger |
