What firewall are you using? Have you tried connecting with the firewall off? (I don't usually recommend doing that, but just for a few minutes to test if the problem continues would be helpful.) Just be sure to turn the firewall back on after you test it.

wlcomm.exe is the process that is supposed to speed up signing into WLM as well as maintains contact synchronization. If this process is ended it will disconnect you from WLM. Sounds like something is ending this process, which will kick you off WLM. (You could test this by logging in and having task manager open and watching to see if the process is there and then suddenly stops.)
Do you have anything monitoring/limiting processes? (For instance I use AnVir task manager which can, if set to do so, limit certain processes when they take up a lot of memory). If you are using anything like this you might want to turn it off temporarily and check for any improvement. I'd also suggest looking at your event logs on the computer (Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer)and seeing if you can find anything at the same time that you are disconnected. You may find a warning or something is cropping up in the logs at the same time. It's a long shot but worth a quick look.
