One of the most common complaints about Yahoo! Messenger chat rooms is the problem with troublesome users sending so-called ’boot codes’ to crash other users’ Messengers and kick them out of the chat room.

Chet Simpson’s Y!Tunnel has filled a need for boot protection, providing seamless operation with Yahoo! Messenger, frequent updates and a great, ad-free product for free. Now Simpson is preparing Y!Tunnel Pro, which will cost $10 US and will include additional features including ad blocking, blacklisting, boot-code analysis, enhanced bot and porn blocking and more.

The basic Y!Tunnel program will still be available free for now, but will no longer be auto-updated.
