Bottom line is, Yahoo! should not be held accountable for something it did not do.
You dont see a guy dressed up as the big Y! positioning itself behind your children and performing un speakable acts do you?
The argument brought on by 'Lysander' had no real valid points or at least any new ones. Yes, parents should and need to take a more vital role in their kids lives, prying or not. You should be showing your children accountability.
"But when your'e a parent, it's important to know what your kids are doing without being seen as "prying," and that's very difficult to do, especailly to hypersensative teenagers. The simplist thing to do is to install a keylogger onto the machine, get the kid's password, and view the IM archives when the kid's not home, but most parents don't know how to do that and that carries a huge risk of abuse with it besides.
Anyone who is a parent and has surfed the web and the chatrooms knows what is out there ."
Hey, lets spy on your kids! wooho that teaches them trust and honesty right there! "STEAL" the kids password, what kind of loving environment do you raise your children in. Seriously, if thats how you are parenting your child, shame on you...
Why is it yahoo!'s fault that perverts and such use their chat system? Why not just ban the video camera/camera/telephone while we are at it. There have been plenty of injustices brought on by these advancements in technology.
"Not really. Oh sure, there are ways, butthey're not that easy, and oyu have to konw about them. Many of them, also, involve spending ca$h."
CONTENT FILTERING! MOST NETGEAR ROUTERS COME WITH IT! 60 bucks, sleep easier!
Im sorry, but as a crusader of justice you are sounding off more like a crusador for Big Brother.
