IMPORTANT NOTICE
As of April 2nd, 2007, we will no longer offer customer support for Yahoo! Messenger 7.0/7.5. We recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger. We will keep these help pages available online should you continue to use this version and have basic questions that these pages can answer. Yahoo! have put this notice up on it's various help pages. Perhaps another login change is on the cards in the near future.

03-20-2007, 08:59 PM Well, it was only a matter of time since they dropped v6.0 support. My guess is they're trying to get a widespread audience to use the Yahoo + WLM interop.

03-21-2007, 01:19 AM Not surprising at all.. this means that YMSG 13 and YMSG 14 (7.0-7.02 use YMSG 13 / 7.5 uses YMSG 14) are on thin ice now while YMSG 12 (used by Messenger 6.0) has been walking on it for a while now. I'll bet that when Yahoo! does do away with older logins that 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 will all go in one fowl swoop leaving only 15 and newer protocol versions standing. Nobody knows when but it'll happen.
