Yahoo is closing its auction sites in the U.S. and Canada on June 16, the company said on Tuesday.
--quote-- "After careful consideration, we have decided to close the Yahoo U.S. and Canada auctions sites to better serve our valued customers through other Yahoo products," the company said in a statement that mirrored a blog posting. The closures do not affect Yahoo's auction sites in Hong Kong, Singapore or Taiwan, the company said. A Yahoo representative declined to elaborate on the reason for shutting the sites. Yahoo! seems to be closing down a lot of services the last 4-5 months, i wonder if this is part of the reform they promised at last quarter of last year. It's interesting to see that yahoo! still hold the Messenger service in high detail as it has not been effected by these closures yet with the new Vista Messenger built from scratch on the way its looking to be a good year for Yahoo! Messenger. Last edited by detn8r : 05-10-2007 at 01:48 AM.
