Yahoo! Messenger Security Update Released
Last week, we warned Yahoo! Messenger users not to accept webcam invitations from strangers (a good practice anytime) because of the zero-day exploit that had been discovered. Now Yahoo! has issued an updated to Yahoo! Messenger that fixes the problem.
Ven0m, one of BigBlueBall's resident Yahoo! experts, announced the new version on Tuesday. A direct link to the official download is here. We still advise you not to accept webcam invitations or file transfers from people you do not know, not because of a vulnerability of the software, but because it is just a good way of practicing safe computing online. |
