Webcam conflict with Windows2k Pro?

This is a bit of a doozy unfortunately. I have been using windows 98 for a very long time. I have a Creative Webcam PD1001 which worked great for me on yahoo (no crashes etc.) Just fine while using Windows 98.

This past Saturday I decided it was time I got with a more stable OS. I formatted my PC and installed a clean copy of Win2k Pro. Did all the Windows Updates and installed all my hardware drivers which were needed.

I installed the Web camera.. no problems. It works in its own control center as well as on MSN Netmeeting.

When I open Yahoo I can chat etc.. but when I click on Tools "View my Webcam" It opens the webcam box but shows nothing just whites out the entire box.

I did try reinstalling both the webcam and Yahoo messenger.. with no avail. I also went to Yahoo's help on webcams and did the registry entry which also did not help.

Does anyone know if this is a conflict with Win2k Pro?

Well I got farther.. and this is what makes no sense to me now. When I go to the "test my webcam" page on yahoo's website.. it works. I can see myself just fine in the little window.

But when I attempt to view my webcam through Yahoo messenger.. it opens the window and all I see is a white backgrouind.

Is there some setting I have wrong?

chack out the preference settings for webcam

Indeed. Did that last night.. went through every preference setting and tried different things with the same result. Just white background in the Webcam window. The only thing I could not modify.. is the backlight function? It is set to "On" and I was not able to change it to "Off". Do you think that could be the problem?
