Send a message via Yahoo to Nhyrvana
try this..........
http://chat.yahoo.com/c/voice/app.html?yid=YOURNAME&room=Yahoo!+Chat+Help:1

replace the YOURNAME part........and replace the yahoo+chat+help:1 with your room name... like.......
Anime:1 ( make sure you use the + for spaces.... )
this also gives a java window with add in seperate window....

i think thats the right link.. test it you may need to have it pop up in a new window for folks to edit first...

argh.. i think thats right.........

If you or your buddies are using the yahoo! messenger, you can use the ymsgr protocol links and add the following link to your webpages:

Code:
  <a href="ymsgr:chat?roomname">Join My Room - Messenger</a>
When a user clicks that, their messenger will launch if not already open, and if it is open, it will take them direct to that room.

If not messenger, or as an alternative, provide this link:

Code:
  <a href="http://chat.yahoo.com/?room=roomname">Join My Room - Browser</a>
That will take them to the login page, and then take them to that room. (if they are logged on, it wont need a login).

Hope this helped!

OK, you must have messenger installed for the ymsgr one to be a link, it registers on your computer a new protocol and association, so it acts just like a link.

I just put together this basic test page for you to see:

http://www.freddys-utilities.co.uk/roomtest.html

Look at the source code to see how it's achieved. Hope you understand it. If not, show me the page where you are trying to do it and I will tell you where it has gone wrong.

"Nhyrvana"'s option above requires you already be logged into yahoo! and the YOUR NAME to be edited to the person currently logged in on a machine, you would need to implement that with javascript to replace the name variable, but it does lose the ads.

if you don't have messenger installed, it wont appear as a link, but it will to those who do have messenger installed.

freddy@freddys-utilities.co.uk is my email address.
