Well, I dont claim to be an expert at these problems, but my best guess is that MS Office XP has something to do with it. Try uninstalling then reinstalling it. If possible go back to MS Office 2000, I've heard alot of complaints about Office XP, but if you've bought it, then just try the re-install. If you can try running your system for awhile without Office on it at all and see if you still get the blue screen.

Also is Office XP the only program you have installed since reformating?

Can you write down and post the full error message, and what program(s) you were using at the time of the error.

netsavvy, you're using an outdated version of Windows. Windows 98 is very vulnerable to crashes and data loss is a daily habit.

If you want to solve this the easy way, just upgrade to Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Also keep in mind that poorly coded programs such as 'KaZaA Media Desktop' make your PC very vulnerable to crashes, viruses and trojans. Another tip I could give you is to get rid of ZoneAlarm. It doesn't do it's work very well as a firewall. I've always used Kerio Personal Firewall, until I got a router (firewalls are useless then).

Untrue.

Windows 98SE is [u]The most[/b] stable Mirosoft Windows OS out there.

More people use Win98SE than any other OS, and even a lot of the pro's multiple boot is with an NT based OS. (I do anyway, and a lot of other tech guy friends I have)

Though I prefer Windows NT based OS's, they are still less stable.

Thanks Dave... I was going to say. Out of all the OS's Ive played around with, and seen, 98(se) is the best.
Tho, I've seen that alot of people using XP saying that 98 is not stable. (Dont know why. Maybe its because they have the roll back when they fugg up...)
I thinks its the way XP is made. There must be some hidden code that only XP USERS can see. To tell people that 98 is garbage, and XP is the world. Maybe they would get more users if they pulled the fisher price sticker off the side of the box

Hi Detn8er,

No, I'm an XP User, I think it is good, and it is easier on my eyes, but there is no freaking way anyone cal call Win98 crap.

Those that do are just ones that don't know what the hell they are doing. (hehe, they use system-restore evert other day too, LOL)

DJHyperbyte,
I'm not calling you a newbie, you are correct that 98 has a bit less ecurity than 2000/XP/2003, but it is not yet outdated.

But, all this is comeing from a guy that's used almost every Windows OS, and knows what he's doing. (I never ran NT 3.51 though ). So my opinions will be different.
