Keeping offline messages with Yahoo Messenger 5.6

With version 5.5 of Yahoo Messenger, all offline messages were never deleted. This now happens in 5.6. Is there a way I can keep the offline messages without messenger deleting them?

thanks

Your question is a lil confusing, you are saying that your offline messages are getting deleted now, do u mean they are getting deleted, or that they just aren't showing up? I doubt if they was there that they would get deleted. To view your offlines goto Tools on your main messenger window then offlines, to view your messages. I haven't had any problems with receiving offlines, but a couple friends of mine did, i heard something to do with what kind of id you have, if you aren't receiving offlines, you might want to make a new id. Also you could be missing a file that stores your offlines, I have seen that mentioned here b4.

As of Yahoo! Messenger 5.6 your messages are deleted once shown.

What I mean by shown, is that you see you have one. Even if you don't read it, once you close the offline message box, they are deleted.

This is probably a poor attempt to stop bootcodes in the offline messages.

I am having the same problem. The offs pop up same as always when you log on. You read it, close the window & it is GONE. Too bad, so sad if it was something important!!!

Just a little thing i tried out......

if you enable message archiving, Yahoo actually saves those offline messages for you.
