you cant really see there exact city anyway.. because everyone isp's arnt located RIGHT in there city.. normally one city supplys internet to a ton of citys....

Just enter the IP addres to find location, by defult this site will display your own IP address and geographical location.

How do I get an IP Address from a computer or a Kiosk system? I am in the dark on this somewhat but I am sure someone can tell me. Let me know.

Kiosk system? lol what you need that for..... and what kind of computer? like a friends on aim.. or a kiosk system?

uhhh im not really sure how you would go about find a kiosk systems ip.. i havent ever tryed..

and if your not sure about how to get the ip from one.. and you plan on hacking something like that... dont... (not that you should attempt hacking one anyway...)

I have the program TightVNC...Is anyone familiar with that and how it works? need some assistance with it.

The kiosk is somewhat a kiosk. Not sure how to describe. Im not hacking, thats just not smart to try, no offense to some.

but what do you NEED the ip for? what is it helping you with...

im not really sure how you would get one of those things ip's (if your talking about the computers that are setup in marketplaces, malls, banks, ect)

because normally they dont allow the user to do anything on it.. now if its just a normal computer.. and you have access to it..

if you could browse the web go to "www.whatismyipaddress.com"
if you can get to its command promp type ipconfig

and if you dont have access to it and it wont allow you to do any of that.. i have no idea..

(this is best i can really think of.. theres no real way to ping one of those things.. lol or get it to connect to you) i dont even know if they are connected to the internet..

but again.. what are you trying to do.. (that could help me)

My guess is that he's trying to access the computer with this TightVNC. From what I've gathered, he just wants to be able to access any computer with it. Unfortunately for him VNC doesn't quite work like that. First of all Mikepelletier23, the computer you're connecting to must have a VNC server on it. Second, you'ld have to know the username/password for that computer to be able to access it. Obviously not all computers run a VNC server because that would just be stupid. If you are trying to access one of your computers with it, then put a server on that computer and then connect to it's IP (by checking how mikeysnipa said to) and have at it. Otherwise, you might just want to let this alone and not bother. If my hunch is correct, you want to use it for malicious purposes and that's not condoned on this forum or by me in any way.

There are certain programs which allow you to hide or spoof your IP address. This is basically done by going through an anonymous proxy on the net (in layman terms - you are seen as coming from a different geographic location because what you basically have is a post-box/forwarding address in a different location - Imagine having a postbox in Rome or Paris or London and all your correspondence gets routed to your current address from there. So any person trying to get your address would only get your Rome/Paris/London address and not your real address)

JAP, Steganos Internet Anonym Pro are two of the tools that I have personally used and evaluated. JAP is a free java based tool, while you have to purchase Steganos. Both are equally robust anonymisers (good god - my english is deteriorating so fast).

JAP requires you to configure certain things though - Steganos just allows you to install and start to use. In fact a particular setting in Steganos will make your L'Amour think that you are changing your postal address every 5 seconds will spook him out for sure!
