I am not a Yahoo Messanger user. I do not have it installed in my computer. I was playing a Yahoo game off their website, and 3 ppl started talking to me using Yahoo Messanger. How??? I know that there is prolly a simple answer such as "U can do that w/ Yahoo Messanger" or something along those lines. Is that right Please help this confused child!!!!

Are you absolutely, positively sure they were talking to you with Yahoo Messenger, and not the built in Private Messaging that is used with the chat portion of the Game Rooms?

Send a message via MSN to snugleupagainst Send a message via Yahoo to snugleupagainst
There is a Web based Yahoo messenger that everyone is able to use when in game rooms. They clicked on your name checked your profile and sent a note thru the Web-Messenger.

well.... try this...
open and log on to Y! messenger and press Ctrl + O... what dp you see... an Instant Message window pops up with no Id of any person... You can type the Id over there and start chatting without adding anyone... So that might be what they have done as they must have got your ID from somewhere... for eg if you were in a games room where you can play with other players like Pool, your ID is being displayed to everyone... I think they might have got it from there...

OOPS!!! Did I say that!!! Music is playing... can you hear it

Send a message via AIM to Johnson Send a message via Yahoo to Johnson
This is pretty simple, you aren't using yahoo messenger, you are being pm'ed "private message" thru yahoo games which is java. The other person could be pm'ing you thru java via the game server, or they could be im'ing you thru messenger "instant message", or they could be sending you a message from your profile, not sure what it would be thru, possibly java again. Usually they pm you thru the games server, this is done by double clicking on any name in the lobby, or by clicking once on any name at your table. I hate pm's they are really annoying if your trying to play a game or anything else, everytime someone sends another message it shows up on top of your screen, unless you have it minimized. On your game room options you can set them to only receive messages from friends, and that might stop them.
I have noticed that in java its always called a private message, and when it's not java it's called an instant message. Another thing is that some ids just don't seem to ever get the pm's, so if you are trying to talk to someone with them and you get no response, that doesn't mean that they are ignoring you, but they might be. Something funny, if you try to ignore yourself in a gameroom it will tell you "You cannot ignore yourself" lmao
