yahoo buddy online notification by email?

Hi everyone. On Yahoo messenger, my buddies show up in BOLD when they are online (and not invisible etc) .. I can get a 'knock knock' notification when they log on. Is there any program or code that will allow me to get an email when they log on?

What I'm looking for is to get a notification on my pager when a certain buddy logs on. If I can get an email telling me he's online, I can use yahoo's email filters to send myself a page.

I've seen software ... just a hacker's code really .. that tracks users coming on and off, so I know this can be done .. and I just want to know when one of my buddies is available without having to sit near my computer ..

Any suggestions or ideas?

thx
george

Well i know cell phone with text messaging can connect to yahoo messanger but i dont think your pager will do that . you might wanna contact you pager company service provider and ask them if they offer such a service I know yahoo does offer some moblie support but not really sure what.

thanks for the response. If I could only get a script to check the online status server and send me an email then I'd be all set .. I just don't know how to do that yet ... I've been looking at stuff from the online status forum (www.onlinestatus.org) but haven't stumbled onto anything helpful yet.

Thanks again.
