Yahoo Messenger Webcam Problem!
Hello,
I have just started using Yahoo Messenger (most recent build of 5.6) to communicate with family. I have a brand new Dell with Windows XP running and a recently purchased Logitech Quickcam Messenger. I was able to connect voice and webcam the other night with my parents. Unfortunately last night while I was going through the webcam options to see what else I could do, I changed the webcam source from my Logitech to my Dell Movie Studio capture device. I figured if nothing worked I would still have the option to change the selection back. Now I cannot get either of these to pop up as a choice in Webcam Source. I keep getting errors about the image not being supported. I have gone through the entire help directory of Yahoo Messenger and have tried everything. When I downloaded the vidcap program suggested in Yahoo help, it did allow me to choose and I was able to see the webcam. When I restarted Messenger, it did not work. I go to the Webcam source and the only option is for Microsoft WMD image capture I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Messenger and my webcam, but the problem still arises. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to try to get Yahoo working since it worked previously, but if not I may just junk it and try MSN Messenger.
