I think he wants to talk to me, but doesn't want to admit it, so he is acting like someone else to get a second chance. I donno... just an idea

I don't understand , how on earth can you make an id in yahoo and not have a profile? The only thing I've noticed is you can make it so messenger doesn't show you have a messenger.. but I've never heard of this ghosting before...

And why would people talk to you and then delete an id........ I don't understand that either... Either you want to talk to the person or you don't.. As simple as you ignore them or you add them..

Sounds to me like its just another deceitful thing to do only online.
