Offline Messages & Archiving

Hello

I DID consult the FAQs and previous posts on this, but I couldn't really get a clear answer to my doubts, so here goes...

I'm delighted with the Message Archive feature - very useful. So far, so good. However, I seem to be having a few problems archiving offline messages. This morning I sent a very long message to a group of friends (send as group) and have no idea if it reached them safely. By chance, they were - and still are as I write - all offline. I went to my message archive and found no record whatsoever of this message. Very annoying - it's always nice to have a record of what you send people, I think - rather like the "Sent Messages" option in Outlook. I can always delete at a later date (and usually do) but I'd like first to have the opportunity to review what I wrote!

Anyway, I then sent two friends from the same group a simple individual "test message" and found that both these messages WERE archived successfully. What's going on here? Are offline messages only archived if sent to individuals? If so, this is very unfortunate! Are there any tricks or utilities that I should be aware of?

On a less specific note, can any of you who have used MSN tell me how their archiving features compare with Yahoo's?

Many thanks. More questions to follow later...

Mike

PS. I use Yahoo 5.6, by the way.

I'm not sure about all of the technical info behind it...but I know there's a difference between sending a message to an individual and a group. I think it's a different kind of action the program takes....I'm sure one of the more tech savvy people here has the answer. But I've noticed a difference just by using the various functions.
