WAP Browser plugin

Does anyone know if the WAP browser plugin for Yahoo! Messenger will be coming back?

The actual webpage is down, so the plugin is trying to look for a page that doesn't exist.

WAP, as in the standard that WAP phones use.
Pages on the internet are in WML (Wireless Markup Language), and this Yahoo browser acts like an emulator. In fact, it IS an emulator.

Which service do you use? I am on Sprint and don't remember ever having to look for a WAP plug-in ever. (And just for the record I DO know what WAP is I've been using Yahoo! WAP for over two years). I see that you are from the UK, so you are on a different service. Try using the US WAP and see how it works. They may have changed it now so it only works with US phones. I think it was mm.yahoo.com before. But here are some sites that I just dug up that might help you...though you've probably already been there. http://mobile.yahoo.com/wireless/downloads and here's the Ireland and UK site. http://uk.mobile.yahoo.com/ I hope this helps some and if you have anymore questions just ask...I've been pretty good at figuring out WAP problems. I have some time today so I'll work on finding another answer in case this hasn't helped you at all. Good Luck

It seems the UK site has removed the emulator from all its mobile pages.
I've done a search on Google, and it shows up the Yahoo! Asia site.

Again, it says it offers the WAP browser, but on opening it up, it is unavailable.
BTW, this emulator is available for messenger as an additional "tab". The tab is still there, but when I click on it, I get a "Page cannot be found" page.

If you look in the Ireland&UK site under WAP it asks about making Yahoo! your homepage, that may be your only way to get messenger. Since I'm in the States I can't try it out for myself. I DO know that Yahoo! was trying to do some sort of "pay" form of messenger here, which I have no intention of paying for...I'm fine with the regular old free one. The feeling I'm getting from all of this is that there is going to be (or they are at least attempting) a change in the way they offer services to try to make more revenue from the WAP area, since it's a lucrative area of business. But again, this is just a feeling. I wish I could be of more help, but since I'm not in the UK I have limits with what I can experiment. As long as setting up your phone with the Yahoo! Homepage is free I'd try that avenue and see if it works. Otherwise, see if the USA WAP works with your phone. Even though I can't do much...I'll keep looking and I'll let you know if I come up with anything.
