Deleting a yahoo mail account.

I have Yahoo set as my home page linked to my yahoo id which I do not want to stop using. The yahoo id on my home page is the same as I use for yahoo messenger and my email. I was wondering if it's possible to delete the yahoo mail account yet still keep yahoo as my home page and obviously still use messenger using the same yahoo id?

Yes, this is possible.

If you really want to delete your account, go to:: https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user

Oops, my bad... If you don't want to keep logged in, open your browser (Tools>> Internet Options>> General>> Delete Cookies and Delete Files..

Is this what you're trying to find?

I do not want to completely terminate yahoo id. i'd simply just like to delete my yahoo mail account assosciated with that yahoo id and still use yahoo messenger and keep my home page with my yahoo id.

That's the problem. I do want to keep logged in on my yahoo page. My husband and I both use it. However, on any yahoo home page there is a link that can easily be clicked to access your mail account. In there might be emails that I do not wish for him to see. Though, I still would like to keep our home page id as well as use my yahoo messenger with the same id as the home page. I just don't want him to get into the mail account.

If you're concerned that other people might accidentally see your personalized Yahoo! pages, don't check the "Remember my ID on this computer" box. Make sure to click "Sign Out" and close your browser when you leave your computer. This will ensure that we ask for your Yahoo! ID and password the next time you access any of Yahoo!'s personalized services.

If you use a shared computer (in a library, Internet cafe, university, airport, or other common area) do not check the "Remember my ID on this computer" checkbox.
For more information: http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/edit (look under where it says 'Yahoo! ID and Password')

EDIT- the only way I know to do this is to pay for the Yahoo account to have it forwarded to my other account where no one would know.
