Web cam, yahoo

My Yahoo messenger control buttons for the web cam are ghosted (cam settings & cam source) it resets my computer if Y mess trys to start cam. My cam is pluged in and works fine with MSN messenger.

It used to work great with both Y and msn.

Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling y mess and my cam, but its not made any difference.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Update: Windows xp Sp2, 6.0.0.1750 Y mess. Cant think of any new stuff.

Have you installed any new programs or updated anything? What version of Y! Messenger are you using? What's you OS? Once we know some of those we can help you more.

That should help solving your problems with the buttons
and one more thing you can not use the cam simultaneously that is you can not use your cam both on MSN and yahoo at the same time

Resolved.

Every time I unpluged the cam to use the usb port for my digi cam then plugged the web cam back in it installed it under a new name e.g. philips cam: video #1, Philips cam: video #2 etc.
Yahoo was still looking for philips cam: video.

I had to go into the Reg and manually remove the other names so only philips cam: video was left.

Hope this helps others.
