Web Cam Kernel32.dll error/ Crash
I've recently upgraded to cable.
Have been running yahoo cams, able to view, but after a certain period of time (this timeframe vaires could be 5 minutes or able to view cam for an hour)...my ypager crashes, and I have to switch it of at the wall to reboot. Before cable yahoo cams worked fine, apart from they would freeze, but that didnt make yahoo crash and stall my system. I've also had no windows updates since that time, and added no software.
I've added the Webcam thingy to my registry. Thought it had worked, it didnt.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled messenger twice. Plus ytunnel. Even did a registry cleanup and made sure there was no reference to yahoo on my system. Yahoo Help emailed back and says I have a corrupt file and to reinstall, but I'm not doing it a 3rd time, cuz it aint fixed the problem.
The error I get is :
YPAGER caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 017f:bff9db61.

Stack dump:
Im running Messenger 6.0 Build 1643 as it works with Ytunnle build 272. I cant upgrade ytunnel because his newest versions wont work on my system, I cant get into Chat, and he dont seem to fix the problem.
I have upgraded my logitech software and drivers, as I do this each time theres a problem, and it still dont work.
ITs driving me batty, as I never know when Im viewing cams how long im gonna view for, and when yahoos gonna crash. ITs frustrating. And I'm not getting rid of cable...lol...no way am I going back to dial up.

What version of Windows are you running? It looks like a common ME error. I know what you mean about not going back to dial-up!! What other programs do you have running when you try to start your cam? If we can get some of that info...it would help isolate the problem as well. Someone here should have an answer for you before too long. You've come to the right place and the members and mods here rock! So, hang in there....we'll get it solved.
*Closes Eyes* Why is it so bright so early?

Hey there, thanks for your reply
Im on Windows 98...dont like or want to upgrade to XP.
I also have ZoneAlarm running, but have run the cam without ZoneAlarm running also. But haven't tested that since doing the registry entry. I've just checked my firewall, and on the ypager, have just set it to allow ypager to use other programs. Think that could be why and have yet to find someone to cam with to test that that works.
I use outlook express, but dont normally have that open.
And I run Ytunnel 272...havnet tested cam without ytunnel...but never had problmes until I got cable.
And my logitech software is current version 8.4.1 build 1092D
Ive also noticed that in my web cam prefs, when I go to camera source...that logitech quick cam is not in the pull down list, only Windows graphic thingy (forgive my thingys I've got a hangover)...lol
So I dont know wehter to uninstall the webcam software and reinstall it. But the webcam works fine without yahoo. Its just yahoo making it go down, and its so tempermental....Today for instant, I was viewing a cam for an hour, and had my cam up, and it went down...then came back viewing for 5 mintues it then went down...so...its just werid.
I do hope someone knows how to fix that kernel error.

I had heard one of the reasons Yahoo was encouraging everyone to upgrade messenger is that there are some real security flaws with some of the older versions. It might be that because you are using an older version, there is something incompatible with the cam dlls.
Why don't you get and use a chat client and see if your cam works? I know that cams are working fine with YahElite. If you use YahELite and find you need to reload the cam files, go to http://yahelite.org/client Get the file ycabby.exe Exit yahoo chat/messenger and run ycabby. It will probably stop and start a number of times depending on how busy yahoo is, but it will tell you when it is done. Let it run until it has finished. Then reboot, go into chat and try your cam.

I justhad an idea. Perhaps when cable was installed, it set the Sun virtual machine to be the default. Many of yahoo's features do not work properly if the Sun virtual machine is used or if you need to update the one you have.
This site http://www.delta-knight.co.uk/ms_vm.shtml will tell you which version of virtual machine you have. It has instructions to set the Microsoft virtual machine as default and has links to the updated files if you need them. Please let me know if you try it and it helps.

I cant update messenger cuz ytunnel for booter protection, newer builds wont work on my system..so I'm stuck using this messenger.
The only change is Cable, and the Telephone man, did reset my settings to default.

I tried this and set my java to those as explained on that site.
I thought it was working, but 40 minutes into camming I got the same ypager error.
As for yahelite, ive never been able to figure out our to get cam working on that....lol...but I think this afternoon im gonna sit down and figure it out....this ypager error is driving me nuts....
Thankyou so much for your help so far.

Wow, thats werid, I went into Yaheltie and clicked on webcam, and Yahsho is now working. I didnt do nothing.
So far so good, my friends been viewing me for 20 mintues and I aint froze or crashed, now all I need to do is view someones cam and see if it works.
Thus, detrminiing that its my yahoo been the problem. But I cant upgrade till ytunnel fixes the incompatiblity issues.
