I'm guessing this has been asked 100+ times..

but I'm not having any luck finding it in the archives..

Is there any way to post a link in your status message that will log ip addresses or even just s/n's of those who view it? Btw, not planning to hack any accounts (wouldn't I know how to do this already if I knew how to hack an account?) just wanting to see what general location a few people are from (because I don't believe what they say--so why am I chatting w/them right??) and see if there are other people checking me out that I'm unaware of. Seriously, we all want to know this.

Looking for something similar to AOL's IM chaos link..

    Thanks!

Ummm The short answer to your specific question is no. In order to obtain an IP, you need a peer to peer or person to person connection. Of course there are other longer ways to obtain that, but they would need to click on a link that you give them, and that's just not a sure thing.

The one I love is just asking a question. Really quickly and very short. Like... "Hey what's the zip code out by you", or "hey what's your area code", or find a small town that is right next door to where they say they live, and say, "hey do you know where "small town is". Gotta love it...

Oh maybe thats mean... but hey it's only fun... That's what chat is suppose to be.

Thanks, but this person doesn't want me to find out anything about them. I doubt they'd fall for that.
