Profile Colors

Hi.

How do you get the profile colors displayed on these profiles?:

I read in another thread that they're from a set of colors that were banned? Huh? I've been using Yahoo profiles since 1998 and I've never seen any of those colors available; both of those have been updated since 1998, and the second one was updated just last year.

What's the deal? I want those colors.

Most likely those colors were allowed before 1998 then and when you update your profile information you aren't updating the profile colors, so they would still stay the same for them. So its just a matter of when you first started using yahoo just like there is "rare" names with the capitals and things like that.

If it was like that then I would think that when you put symbols in your nickname that it would allow you to update your profile then too but, It doesn't.
I'm sure there's a way around this as to how people are doing it.

Well first off, welcome to BBB, and if you haven't read the forum rules, the colors you are using to type your entire post aren't looked upon nicely. I'm pretty sure someone will edit the color you used later. Just giving you some friendly advice!

On topic, The only time the date changes on profiles is when you change the profile information...When you change anything else like the picture, the voice, the page colors...The date remains the same. So they could have just simply updated something in their profile information. And yes there could be a possibility that people found a way around it...But i seriously doubt it due to all the new upgrades in the system.

Thanks for welcoming me, And I just picked a color that was supplied in the advanced posting.

I know when you post an image or anything like that, The date stays the same. But.. About the profile colors, Who knows.

No problem and First off, yes you are right the colors are there, but to used sparingly when you need to get a point across...I would imagine like when you wanna really make a word stand out.

And i myself have changed the color background on my profile, to the one's yahoo provides, and when i do the, the date remains the same...Which is why i seriously think the people with the colorful backgrounds did get them long long ago, and just updated their profile information recently, not the colors.

Not to mention some of the colors are very hard on the eyes! I changed all of them back to black. Thanks for understanding, and I hope you have a great time here with the rest of us!
