Yahoo profile problem?
I received the following question via email:

I dont know how to ask a question on this site....but I just noticed that there is a problem with the new Yahoo Profile Format - both the Alias Name and the person's User ID is displayed on the same profile page.

If a person is using an Alias Name.....and you access their profile.....

Their Alias name is displayed on the left side of the profile, above the picture area........but their USER ID name, is displayed in the body of the profile, just above the the persons information about themselves.

Is Yahoo aware of this problem and are they correcting it?

Thank you in advance for any information you can give me about this.
Now I tried to check this myself but couldn't find a problem. Has anyone else seen or experienced this?

If you'd like to test, you can do so with my default profile and my alias profile.

Thanks for those examples

Well, I see no problem - one is ReallyOldB, in BOTH places, the other is BigBlueB, in both places - just as I figure it should be.

In fact I see no way to "connect" these two profiles.

But I AM especially interested in this area, as I just saw some posts in another forum alleging that Y! Profile display format had CHANGED a few hours ago... then at least one poster saying later it seemed to have changed "back" to normal!
Myself I've not noticed any format changes recently, but I guess it's possible, temporarily... maybe ?!

Hey guys A friend of mine was saying she noticed the profiles changed for a while earlyer today. She said that the pictures were on the left and alot of links for photos and such were gone. I am thinking that this was some sorta of test by Yahoo....
Yahoo news, skins, and tutorials...

I saw that too, but by the next day the problem disappeared. I think that was a temporary Yahoo! glitch that coincided with the changes they made to the profile pages.

Yahoo are just making the Profiles more tablet/wap friendly.

The old ones were full of all sorts of crap.

The new layout is a lot easier.

As for the topic the 2 profiles are just as they should be.
