Can not Add Contacts, pending contacts not updating

Hi , I’m using the most recent version of YM. I have a strange problem. I just opened a new account name and was adding many contacts. After about 50 or so, my add requests where timing out, and any new people that got my message and replied were not being adding. Now if I go to another account same computer all works fine. Is there a limit to how many pending contacts you can have?







I get the message seem like its taking longer than it should to get a response to your request error.







And suggestions?

I couldn't find any information on yahoo help but I suppose there is only one way to find out if there is a limit to pending contacts and that is by waiting a while until you add more contacts. Adding 50 or so in a short amount of time might have made your messenger go crazy or something. heh.

The maximum contacts you can have is 300, so THAT's no problem.

I've heard suggestion that you add only 5 at a time, then wait a few minutes (and/or exit/reopen YM) to let those be assimilated before adding more.

But as for the "Pendings", no idea. I've never had more than 3 on Pending at any one time.

A minor(?) related problem I have - at times I add someone, and they stay as Pending. When I ask them later they say they never got a request to authorise me - and there then seems no way to "re-request" short of deleting them then re-adding (which usually works fine the second time).

Interesting question, TC61 - I hope you do come up with a clear answer.
